I don’t personally have a problem with the freedom of this product, as many other users do, but I would love to know more about the financial implications of a switch. I imagine it would be a bit difficult to get my hands on a few months of salary and the ability to pay a few bills without dipping into my savings.

The question is, how much would you be willing to give up? If you had to give up a few hundred bucks, that’s one thing, but if you were willing to give up thousands, you may be better off not switching. At the very least, you’d be giving up the ability to use your credit cards.

My personal opinion is that mint is a good Linux distro. I mean, its the first distro that I have had that is able to run on my ancient desktop computer, but I don’t really consider myself that tech-savvy.
