How to Explain alexa is down to a Five-Year-Old
I’m a huge fan of a new, trendy product that is in the process of hitting the market. But as soon as I hear a product’s name, I’m not really sure if I should be excited or not. I never actually bought it (I didn’t know what the product was) and I’m not sure if I wanted it or not. The good thing is that I know what I want, and I’m not scared to choose it and use it.
This is true of many trends in the consumer marketplace, but the one that has been on my mind lately is a new product called “Alexa.” I think the name is great, it makes me want to say “Alexa!” I am just not sure if I want to. I know it is a great product, but I don’t think I want it.
I think the first thing that people should know is that Alexa is not a product. Alexa is a service. When you say “Alexa, turn on the TV”, Alexa will turn on the TV. The problem with the name “Alexa” is that it is a verb. Alexa is not a robot, you don’t say “Alexa, turn on the TV” and it will turn on the TV. Alexa is a person.

The common confusion with Alexa is that it is a person that is capable of understanding speech.
Although Alexa is a person, it’s also a computer program. Alexa’s speech is still a person’s speech, and it can understand speech, as well. However, many people are familiar with Alexa’s capabilities, and they are capable of understanding speech. Alexa is far from the only computer program for which this distinction is made.
